07.07.2025.

On June 26, the Steering Committee of the GSAI Project in Support of the Dominica Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) met to approve the implementation report for Phase 1 of the project for the period from 2024 to June 2025, as well as to approve the project plan for the Project’s second phase, which is to start as August of this year and will be implemented until the end of 2027.

The Steering Committee brings together representatives from all parties involved in the project. SAI Dominica chairs the group which also includes representatives from the State Audit Office of Latvia, the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) Development Initiative (IDI) and the Caribbean Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (CAROSAI).

The Head of the Dominica SAI, Maylina Jno Ville, is positive about the start of a new phase, and looking back on the progress achieved in Phase 1 of the project, notes that the joint efforts have created a significant impact. “This impact is evidenced by the positive feedback from stakeholders on the audit reports prepared by the Dominica SAI.”

Auditor General Edgars Korčagins emphasizes the excellent work done within the framework of this project and, like Ms. Jno Ville, is optimistic about further achievements in Phase 2 of the project.

In turn, representing INTOSAI IDI Assistant Director General Godwin Matte points to the excellent cooperation between partners and the ability to respond to challenges: “We highly appreciate the team’s commitment, and the progress made despite the challenges.”

Since July 2023, the State Audit Office has been implementing the GSAI Phase 1 project to support Dominica SAI in cooperation with the INTOSAI IDI and the Caribbean Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (CAROSAI). By signing an agreement on the implementation of Phase 2 of the project, we will continue to provide support until at least the end of 2027. Funding for the implementation of the project is provided by INTOSAI IDI. The total funding planned for Phase 1 of the project was $100,000, and the funding for Phase 2 is set at $148,000.
