Project Title: Building the Capacity of the EU's Eastern Partnership and of Uzbekistan’s Supreme Audit Institutions in the Process of Integrating the Standards of International Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAI)
Beneficiaries: Audit Chamber of the Republic of Armenia, Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova, Accounting Chamber of the Republic of Ukraine, and Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Project Financing and Source: The state budget of the Republic of Latvia, in accordance with the Development Cooperation Policy Plan for 2024 to 2027, up to EUR 34,000 per year.
Project Objective: To strengthen the capacity of the Supreme Audit Institutions of Armenia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan in the process of integrating the international Supreme Audit Institution standards (ISSAI). State Audit office support for the Supreme Audit Institutions of the EU Eastern Partnership and Uzbekistan is a targeted instrument of the development cooperation policy. The involvement of the State Audit Office is considered a significant contribution to enhancing the external audit environment in Armenia, Moldova, and Ukraine, ensuring these countries progress towards adopting the principles set out in association agreements and international documents in the field of external auditing.
Project Activities:
Training has been provided under the project in all types of audits (financial, performance, compliance) as well as in the institutional matters of Supreme Audit Institutions. This includes the involvement and communication with stakeholders (comprising a detailed training needs analysis) in each of the partner countries, thereby ensuring the training of audit personnel in partner countries and the exchange of best practices.
